Product Summary

Dismissed by toiling moisture farmers and dusty locals as nothing more than a crazy old hermit, Ben Kenobi resides in reflective solitude in his hut near the edge of Tatooine's Jundland Wastes. The gentle old wizard, however, is far more than he seems. Among the last of his kind, Ben Kenobi is in fact Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Knight of the Old Republic from the days before the rise of the evil Empire.

An age ago, when Obi-Wan was counted among the most esteemed of Jedi Masters, his promising pupil Anakin Skywalker was rumored to be the chosen one, whom prophecy had said would bring balance to the Force. To Obi-Wan, Anakin was a brother and friend. Despite their contrasting styles and philosophies, they fought side by side, an undefeatable partnership, in the Clone Wars to preserve the Republic.

But, seduced by power and manipulated through fear of loss, Anakin fell into the grip of the Dark Side, becoming an agent of evil in the Sith Lord Palpatine's plot to enslave the Galaxy. Obi-Wan, having witnessed the fall of his friend, the betrayal of the Jedi and the destruction of everything he had known and loved, was forced to confront Anakin Skywalker - now Darth Vader- in a fateful duel upon the lava world of Mustafar. Despite Vader's hate-fed power, Obi-Wan overcame his adversary and turned his back upon the maimed and defeated Vader, little more than a burned char of the friend he once knew, to go into exile himself.

For decades now, from his lonely desert retreat, old Obi-Wan has watched the Empire spread inexorably across space. Under the rule of the self-proclaimed Emperor Palpatine and his machine-sustained apprentice, the disfigured Vader, dark times have befallen the Galaxy. Yet hope comes in the form of the child that Obi-Wan has watched over all these years. Young Luke Skywalker, the son of Anakin, growing up on his uncle's moisture farm, feels the call of adventure in his blood, though he is oblivious to the fate that awaits him or the truth of the father he never knew.

The past weighs heavily upon Obi-Wan as he watches Luke grow. In the boy he sees a last hope for the Jedi and a chance to redeem his own failure with his former student, Darth Vader. When Luke is attacked by Sand People, Obi-Wan comes to his rescue and, during his recovery at the hermitage, stirs the spirit of adventure in the boy's heart. Deep within Luke, the flame of the Force, so strong among the Skywalkers, is kindled and ignited, beckoning him to a future greater than any he could have possibly imagined.

Together Obi-Wan and his new pupil embark upon a desperate mission to deliver secret data to the Rebel Alliance and rescue Princess Leia, captured by the Empire. It is in the pursuit of this last great quest that Obi-Wan finally meets his former padawan again and confronts what has become of him- the masked and terrifying Darth Vader- now a fully fledged Sith Lord and more machine than man. Standing against the sinister Dark Lord, Obi-Wan buys time for Luke and the Princess to escape, and as he and his opponent duel he seals the encounter left unfinished when he walked away all those decades ago on Mustafar. In this battle there is no loss for Obi-Wan, for in death he attains a power Vader could never comprehend, and in sacrificing himself for Luke he sets in motion the next step in the boy's journey to become a Jedi, and is at last one with the Force himself.

The Force is with him

This figure came out a number of years ago and I just started collecting this year, 2013. ANH Obi Wan was never one I thought's Id want, but I got him as a bonus when I purchased a Stormtrooper off a Collector. This figure is very impressive. The sculpt, the costume. He's already a favorite!!!

"I was once a Jedi knight"

When I took it out of the box it was like I took Obi-Wan out of the TV. The liknes is great, and the jedi training-remote is awesome. The only complain is that the handpegs are to big or the hands to small. It's really difficult to change them. But without that it's a great figure.

My 1st and favorite SS Fig!!!

this appears as if Sir alec guiness was shrunk. detail- amazing. but on the robe i noticed it is only frayed a bit on the sleeves and the bottom edge. i have seen this on no other figure. which means the detail is superve on this OBI-WAN KENOBI!!

it's a mini sir Alec Guinness!!!

i don't no what to say it looks 100% like him with the costume but i had the same fate as other people the lightsaber with blade ignited snaped i put some glue on and still it looks great. i would like to see a young boba fett in a smaller size of jango's armour sometime. good job sideshow

Great likeness just seems too tall

Got Ben and the likeness is pretty good mine just seemed too tall for Old Ben Kenobi. and the lightsaber broke just below the hilt the minute it came out of the box but it was eaisly corrected with some superglue. Overall very nice. Please hem the robe sleeves though!!! Thanks

Ben Kenobi

Quite simply in my opinion the best star wars 12" figure too date, the sculpting features are top notch this is sir alec without any question. Lets hope the new han and luke keep the trend going. well done sideshow good job!!

Sideshow gets better and better!

This is one of the most spot in likenesses on an action figure that I have ever see, It is amazing how well of a job Sideshow did on this one. I eagerly await the day for Sideshow to release Darth Vader

Give Trev a raise!... ;)

Simply an amazing sculpt of the late Sir Alec Guiness! One of SS's top 5 SW figures released so far. Beautiful outfit to boot.

A New Hope Obi-Wan is nearly perfect

More than any other Obi-Wan figure, this looks just like Alec Guinness. My complaint is the delicate lightsaber, when trying to place the ignited saber in his hand it snapped just below the head; within an hour of opening. A beautiful figure but the accessories should be sturdier at this price!

The best looking Star Wars figure I have EVER owne

Wow. That was all I could say when I got this 12" Obi-Wan out of his package... WOW. I took out some accessories, put his robe on and set him in his base. Did some minor tweaking and positioning. Took a step back for a better look and my initial reaction was "Wow!"... Absolutely PERFECT! Kudos!

PERFECTION!!!

Simply the BEST likeness to be found in any 1/6 figure, EVER!!!! This is amazing.

Another great SW figure

Great costume, great accessories, one of the best SW figures Sideshow has made. If you're a fan of the classics trilogy (or a fan in general) this is a must-have.

Best Star Wars Sideshow figure so far!

Ok so we all know that the Star Wars line has had some ups and downs, but I hope Old Ben is the standard for future releases. The details, the pain apps, the outfit, everything is perfect!! He looks awesome!! Thanks Sideshow, great work!!

Old benny

One of the best ever made. Its my favorite. Keep it coming Sideshow!

BEST SCULPT AND LIKENESS!!!

This has got to be the BEST Sideshow Star Wars figure to date because the likeness is perfect! It's amazing!!! Sideshow should really make all the other figures like this. The best ones so far from the Star Wars line is this one and Jedi Luke. And then Obi Wan from Episode 3.

old ben

got my obi-wan today and its the best sculpt ive seen keep up the good work and please release a 12" nien nunb

I have a baaaad feeling about this

Obi has arrived and he is... awesome!!! You guys really need to use this quality (sculpt & paint) on ALL of your sixth scale figures. For example, place Obi next to Leia and its like night and day. Ok now bring on Han in Corbonite.

Obi-Five Kenobi

Sideshow, this looks like a real gem in the line and I hope the figure matches the pictures.... it's AWESOME!! Can't wait for this one, you really do spoil us. Your products really have pulled me away from collecting the Hasbro lines as I had to make a choice and you guys won.... easily!! :)

He is here.....the force is with him

Hello there...This is probably the best representation of Obi-Wan in any format. And along with Medicom's Jango, the best SW figure yet. Was it Trevor who sculpted this? Please let him and the factory who painted these do the rest of the line. Great job and thank you Sideshow.

Ben? Ben Kenobi?! Boy am I glad to see you!

The likeness to Sir Alec Guiness is amazingly accurate and the robes fit perfectly. The lightsaber hilt is also accurately weathered and detailed. Holographic Leia is great too, but we need Artoo! Old Ben is the most amazing 12" figure yet. I've been waiting for you, Obi-Wan!
