Aquaman’s First Fan Screening News, AMC Announces The Walking Dead Spinoff Films, and More!

Director James Wan announced on his Instagram that all work on the upcoming Aquaman film has been officially completed. Now that the film is complete, the first public screening of the film has been scheduled for December 7th at Brazil’s Comic Con Experience. Aquaman is scheduled to officially open in theaters on December 21st.


AMC has announced a series of spinoff films for The Walking Dead starring Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes. The episode that aired on Sunday, November 4th was the actor’s final appearance in the television series, but the first of these films will focus on what followed Rick’s serious injuries. AMC has not specified how these films will be premiered, whether through their network or theatrically.


Actress Anjelika Washington has been cast in the upcoming Stargirl series for DC Universe. Her role is unspecified, but DC has stated she will be a “familiar” comics character in the series. Actress Brec Bassinger was previously cast in the title role, and Stargirl is expected to debut in 2019 exclusively on the DC Universe streaming service.


Hulu has ordered a pilot for a sitcom based on the life of the K Chronicles cartoonist Keith Knight. New Girl actor Lamorne Morris has been cast in the key role in this comedy series, titled Woke. Woke will combine live-action and animated sequences, and production is set to begin in January 2019.
