Disney’s Live-Action Aladdin Teaser, Netflix Casts October Faction Leads, and More!

Disney has released the first official teaser trailer for its upcoming live-action remake of Aladdin, revealing the magical Cave of Wonders. The film stars Mena Massoud as the so-called street rat, with Will Smith as the Genie and Naomi Smith as Princess Jasmine. Disney’s Aladdin opens in theaters on May 24th, 2019.

Composer Michael Giacchino will be returning to score Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: Far From Home. He previously scored Spider-Man: Homecoming, as well as other blockbuster films like Doctor Strange, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and The Incredibles 2. Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 5th, 2019.


Actor Rahul Kohli has been cast in DC Universe’s upcoming animated Harley Quinn series. Kohli, known for his role on the Vertigo Comics-inspired iZombie, will voice the villain Scarecrow. Other voice talents in the DC Universe-exclusive series include Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, and Alan Tudyk.


According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has cast the lead roles in its upcoming live-action adaptation of The October Faction. J.C. MacKenzie and Tamara Taylor will play Fred and Deloris Allan, a married team of monster hunters. Netflix has additionally cast five other roles for The October Faction, which is based on the IDW comic series of the same name.
