Geek Headlines- a Doom Patrol Television Series, Deadly Class on Syfy, and More!

DC’s upcoming streaming service called DC Universe has ordered a live-action Doom Patrol series to launch in 2019. The debut season of Doom Patrol will consist of 13 hour-long episodes starring a group of traumatized and downtrodden superheroes. The team will debut in the live-action Titans series, which is scheduled to debut later this year.


ABC has officially renewed the Marvel drama Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a sixth season. The show’s renewal includes an order for only 13 episodes, as opposed to the usual 22 episodes that each of the previous seasons has had. There is no word as to whether Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be the show’s final season or not.


Netflix has acquired a new original horror series from the acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro. The anthology show, titled 10 After Midnight, was ordered straight-to-series with Netflix, and del Toro will curate the selection of stories. There is no current release date set for 10 After Midnight.


The Syfy network has released a first-look trailer for its upcoming series Deadly Class. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Deadly Class is based on the popular Image Comics series about a high school for young assassins. The series does not have a specific release date yet, but it will premiere some time in 2019.

Game developer Bethesda has officially announced that it will be releasing a sequel to the video game Rage. The original Rage was an action-adventure, open world game set in a Mad Max-style apocalyptic future. Rage 2 will follow that theme, with a focus on multiplayer modes as people fight their way through desert wastelands.
