Geek Headlines- Marvel’s The Eternals Film, Arrested Development Guest Stars, and More!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel has hired two screenwriters to handle the script of its in-development Eternals film. In comics, the Eternals are an ancient group of cosmic beings with ties to the Kree and Celestial races. Matthew and Ryan Firpo, known for their screenplay Ruin, will pen the screenplay for this potential addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.


20th Century Fox has released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming Queen biopic called Bohemian Rhapsody. The film stars Rami Malek as Freddy Mercury, and follows the beloved band as they rose to fame and created an unparalleled legacy of rock music. Bohemian Rhapsody opens in theaters on November 2nd.

Two guest stars for Netflix’s Arrested Development Season 5 have been revealed ahead of the show’s return later this month. Saturday Night Live cast member Kyle Mooney will have a significant role as a character named Murphy Brown. Six Feet Under alum Frances Conroy will play a district attorney named Lottie Dottie. Arrested Development Season 5 begins streaming on Netflix on May 29th.


Fox has released an extended official trailer for its upcoming vampire drama The Passage. From executive producer Ridley Scott, The Passage is based on Justin Cronin’s fantasy book trilogy, about a dangerous virus that gives its victims a deadly bloodlust. There is no premiere date for The Passage yet.

In an interview with Vulture, screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick announced that they are working on a potential sequel to the 2009 horror-comedy film Zombieland. Aiming for a 2019 release, Zombieland 2 would celebrate the original film’s 10th anniversary and would feature the original cast. Nothing is official yet, but fans hungry for more zombies and Twinkies might not have to wait much longer to return to Zombieland.
