The Haunting of Hill House Netflix Premiere, Dominic Monaghan Joins Star Wars: Episode IX, and More!

Lord of the Rings actor Dominic Monaghan has just joined the cast of Star Wars: Episode IX. Monaghan previously worked with director J.J. Abrams on the television series Lost, and is now reteaming with him for this latest Star Wars installment. Episode IX is in production now, and will open in theaters on December 20th, 2019.


Disney CEO Bob Iger has announced that the company’s upcoming streaming service will be called Disney Play. Disney will switch away from hosting its movies on Netflix, with Disney Play being used to stream content like upcoming Marvel Studios films and an original Star Wars television series. Disney Play is expected to launch late in 2019.


The HBO official Twitter account has revealed the first footage from Game of Thrones Season 8. The network debuted a short promo video for their 2019 television lineup, revealing some new brief scenes featuring Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen. Game of Thrones Season 8 will air on HBO in 2019.

Netflix has released some first-look images at its upcoming adaptation of The Haunting of Hill House. Based on the 1959 gothic ghost story, the television series follows the story of four inhabitants of a mysterious mansion who all have terrifying experiences with the supernatural. The Haunting of Hill House will premiere on October 12th on Netflix.
