The Meg Takes a Bite Out of the Weekend Box Office, First Images of Netflix’s Sabrina Series, and More!

Warner Bros.’ shark thriller The Meg left the competition dead in the water at this weekend’s box office. The larger-than-life sea monster defied expectations and pulled in $44.5 million, taking the number one spot for the weekend. Mission: Impossible- Fallout followed with $20 million, and Disney’s Christopher Robin took third place with over $12 million at the domestic box office.


Paramount Pictures has cast actors Adam Pally and Neal McDonough in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog live-action film. Pally will be playing a police officer alongside the previously cast James Marsden, while McDonough’s role is currently unknown. Sonic the Hedgehog opens in theaters on November 15th, 2019.


Disney Channel has released a quick teaser for its upcoming live-action Kim Possible movie. Based on the popular animated series, the film follows the life of a teenage spy who has to balance high school with saving the world. Kim Possible is expected to premiere on Disney Channel some time in 2019.

Netflix has released the first official images giving fans a look at the upcoming horror series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, based on the comic series of the same name. A departure from the classic 90’s sitcom, this new show is a dark take on the classic Archie Comics character Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina premieres on Netflix on October 26th.
